About Department
Welcome to the Department of Life Sciences at J. C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA! The Department of Life Sciences, established in 2020, is one of the newly constructed departments of the J. C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA and is committed to research and teaching since its inception. The department started a Master’s in Science (two-year programme) in four subjects; Botany, Zoology, Microbiology and Biotechnology in 2020 and obligated to core courses in biological sciences for postgraduate students. The objective of this department is to equip students with techniques and skills so that they can contribute to achieving innovative and indigenous solutions to scientific problems related to our society. The faculty members of the department are dedicated to quality teaching and research. The Department has a dedicated team of faculty members trained at renowned institutes in India. This growing department with young faculty offers a vibrant atmosphere to nurture the spirit of scientific inquiry. We are constantly on the lookout for bright young minds who would enrich our department by joining us in the capacity of students and researchers. To mentor students for developing conceptual understanding of the subject leading to its application in resolving societal and environment concerns. To provide holistic training to the student to succeed in the society To inculcate the thirst for learning and the zest for research.
VISION
A department established with a multidisciplinary approach for exploring different dimensions of biology and its applications for imparting conceptual and technical skills to students leading to the fostering of scientific temperament.
