B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (Scheme & Syllabus)


The B.Tech Mechanical Engineering program at J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, is a 4-year full-time course designed to equip students with core mechanical principles for industry application. Key features include a comprehensive curriculum, a strong emphasis on practical training in well-equipped labs and workshops, and partnerships with companies like Danfoss and Daikin. Admission is based on JEE (Main) rank and admissions are conducted through the state government's centralized counselling.  

Course details

  • Duration: 4 years, full-time 
  • Approval: Approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and UGC 
  • Admission: Based on JEE (Main) rank, as determined through the DTE Haryana Counselling 
  • Intake: 120 seats in the first year 
  • Lateral Entry: 24 seats are available through the Lateral Entry Entrance Test (LEET) for the second year 

Curriculum and practical training

  • Curriculum: 

Includes a choice-based credit system allowing for elective subjects, focusing on bridging the gap between academics and industry needs. 

  • Laboratories and workshops: 

The department is equipped with 14 labs and three workshops (Machine Tools, Refrigeration & Air conditioning, and Fabrication & Sheet Metal Technology). 

  • Centers of Excellence: 

The university has established Centers of Excellence in collaboration with Danfoss Industries (P) Ltd. and Daikin Air-Conditioning (P) Ltd.
